Building Hope: Abdulaziz Kenfelcha

A small loan. A steady path. A ripple of community impact.

When Abdulaziz Kenfelcha arrived in the United States in 2009 with his wife and two children, he stepped into a new chapter filled with hope and uncertainty. He had come through the Diversity Visa lottery, grateful for the opportunity and determined to build a stable future for his family. Like many new immigrants, he entered a world where every system was unfamiliar and success depended on starting over from the beginning.

Abdulaziz is someone who moves with purpose, so he began searching for any chance to learn and grow. He took online classes in customer service and communication. He looked for ways to use his background in electrical engineering and auto mechanics. He tested different business ideas and tried to find his place in a competitive, fast-changing environment. Each attempt brought challenges such as limited financing, no customer base, and no community connections to guide him.

Even with these barriers, he never stopped moving forward. After taking time to reassess his strengths and the market around him, he realized he needed a new skill that matched both his interests and the needs of the community. He enrolled in a manufacturing technology program and spent four years carefully rebuilding his path. When he completed the program, he discovered his next calling. Graphic design and printing was a field where his creativity, discipline, and technical background could come together in a meaningful way.

He bought a small piece of equipment and started reaching out to anyone who might give him a chance. He offered affordable pricing, promoted his work on social media, and slowly began earning the trust of customers who appreciated his dedication.

This period of steady growth is what led him to AEDS. A friend shared that AEDS could be a helpful partner, so he reached out. During that first conversation, he felt heard. He enrolled in the Entrepreneurship and Business Development Training because he wanted to strengthen his skills and eventually qualify for a business loan.

Credit challenges stood in the way, but they did not stop him. Through coaching, credit building, and consistent guidance from the AEDS team, he strengthened his financial foundation and prepared himself for the next step. When he became eligible, he received his first business loan, which allowed him to invest in high-quality equipment that transformed the scale of his work.

Soon after, he shared a simple message of gratitude.

“This loan will go a long way toward developing my small business.”

It truly did.

His printing business grew quickly and with confidence. He later expanded his income by starting a school and medical transportation business. His progress continued to build until he reached a milestone that meant more to him than any financial achievement. He purchased a home for his family and finally felt the deep sense of stability he had been working toward since the day he arrived in this country.

A business.

A second business.

A third business.

A home.

A future that he shaped through patience, learning, and belief in what was possible.

Today, he serves customers across the metro with a wide range of printing needs and operates both school and medical transportation services. Through these ventures, he has created jobs for more than 50 individuals in his community. His story shows what becomes possible when perseverance meets opportunity and how one person’s growth can ripple outward, strengthening both family and community. For Abdulaziz, success isn’t just about building businesses. It’s about lifting others as he climbs.

If you’re looking for high-quality printing services or custom design work, Abdulaziz is a great person to reach out to. His commitment to quality and service is felt in every project he delivers.
