Building Hope: Yeroon’s Story

Updated: Nov 6

Finding Purpose, Building Confidence, and Creating Opportunity

ree

This week’s Building Hope story features Yeroon Addisu, a 23-year-old entrepreneur who is shaping his own future with determination, creativity, and support from AEDS.

After high school, I was searching for direction. My parents encouraged me, supported me, and helped me explore different training programs, but I still felt unsure of where I belonged or how I could contribute in a way that felt meaningful.

Then we began to talk about starting a business.

I wanted to create something of my own. Developing a tea and tea accessories business has helped me build confidence, practice responsibility, and grow into my independence. I could see the path, but I needed support to take the first step.

That changed when we found African Economic Development Solutions (AEDS).

Through a micro loan from AEDS, I am developing my tea and tea accessories business inside Little Africa Plaza in Saint Paul. The support I received was more than financing. It helped me gain confidence, independence, and the belief that I could shape my own future.

Today, when I look at my business, I see more than shelves and products. I see work. I see growth. I see a dream that I am actively building. It is a reminder that I am capable. That I have something to offer.

That I belong here.

I am still developing my business and refining my schedule, but I am proud of where I am and excited for what comes next.

Because of AEDS, I found a way forward.

I found purpose.

And I found a future I can shape with my own hands.

Thank you, AEDS, for believing in me.

And thank you to everyone who continues to support entrepreneurs like me.

💛 Your support keeps this mission alive — helping more entrepreneurs like me find confidence, independence, and opportunity through AEDS.
